And so we begin...

My 7 year old daughter has recently been given dietary restrictions by her doctor. They're pretty extreme, like pretty much completely cutting out flour, even whole wheat flour and seriously limiting dairy intake. Did I mention we have to pretty much completely cut out processed foods? Here are the guidelines we were given:
First let me say that my daughter is a pretty good eater most of the time. She does well eating fruits and veggies. We already do whole wheat versions of everything, almost exclusively. Her favorite food is sushi! But some of the things she's not going to be allowed to have anymore are going to make for a very sad munchkin. And some of the things she's going to have to start eating are going to cause some fights. She has a very strong will. Luckily her mama does, too. ;) So in an attempt to make things interesting and fun for her, I've started this blog. Like her mama, she enjoys writing. :) My intention is to try new recipes that fit within her guidelines and let her rate them and post the results. Hopefully this will allow those of you reading to find new, kid approved recipes that are healthy for your family. Hopefully this will keep her more open to trying these new options. Hopefully we will all be a little bit healthier from this. Wish us luck!
